After a week of extreme pressure from the LGBT Community – and our allies – Representative Sally Kern withdraws one of her hate-filled pieces of legislation – HB 1597.

The following statement can be attributed to Freedom Oklahoma executive director, Troy Stevenson:

“While we have a lot more legislation to fight back this session, this is an amazing victory for the LGBT community. We would like to thank fair-minded Oklahomans from both sides of the partisan divide for speaking out against this license to discriminate. We may not always see eye to eye, but Oklahomans do not support discrimination, and we are glad to see their voices were heard.”

The following statement can be attributed to ACLU of Oklahoma executive director, Ryan Kiesel:

“While we will remain vigilant against efforts to marginalize LGBT Oklahomans in society and the economy, we are pleased to mark this as an early victory for the 2015 legislative session.”

Representatives from Freedom Oklahoma will be available to the press at our OKC until 8PM office:

5613 N. May Ave.
Oklahoma City, OK 73112
