A national resolution on marriage equality for gay and lesbian couples is expected from the Supreme Court of the United States on either Friday, June 26 (tomorrow) orMonday, June 29. The addition of Friday, June 26, as a decision day for the Supreme Court is interesting. This date is the 12th anniversary of the historic pro-LGBT Lawrence v. Texas decision that decriminalized gay relationships; as well as the 2nd anniversary of The United States v. Windsor, the case that overturned the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). This was the decision that ushered in dozens of decisions in favor of the freedom to marry over the last 2 years.

If the decision is tomorrow, we will have media availability from 10 AM at our offices at:

5613 N. May Ave.
OKC, OK 73112

We have cancelled the planned press conference that was to be held at 11 AM, if the decision comes down tomorrow, out of respect for the funeral of beloved sportscaster Bob Barry Jr., which will be held at that time.

There will also be a community gathering co-sponsored by the ACLU of Oklahoma, at the same location at 6 PM the same day, with hundreds of our supporters.
