A Special Day: Walk to City Hall

  • The Skirvin Hilton 1 Park Avenue Oklahoma City, OK, 73102 United States (map)

On February 12, 2019, Oklahoma City made history by electing its first openly LGBTQ city councilmember. When Harvey Milk was elected City Supervisor, he led a procession from the Castro to City Hall for his swearing in.

In honor of this incredible moment in Oklahoma's LGBTQ history, we at Freedom Oklahoma invite you to escort James Cooper to City Hall in celebration of his swearing in.

We invite our queer family, allies, and friends to join us at the Skirvin Hotel, the site of Oklahoma City's first gay bar. Our procession will escort James to City Hall, where we'll hear from our newly elected councilperson and other community leaders on this incredible moment and our plans for a brighter future.

Please use the ticket link to sign up for this free event.

Afterwards, join us at Bar Arbolada to continue the celebration of James Cooper's historic election and the incredible opportunities his voice brings to our community.
